Full Spectrum CBD vs Broad Spectrum: What's The Difference?

If you thought all CBD / hemp extracts are made equally - you should know that they’re not cut the same despite being from the same cloth - allow us to explain!

Broad Spectrum CBD is the purest form of CBD, it has been extracted from the plant and contains nothing else from the plant. Suitable for vegan and vegetarians.

Full Spectrum means its high in CBD with very low traces of THC (normally less than 0.3%).

CBD Oil vs CBD Capsules

Comes in flavours as not everyone likes the natural taste of CBD, nor the sensation of oil in the mouth.

CBD Capsules

Comes in flavours as not everyone likes the natural taste of CBD, nor the sensation of oil in the mouth.

Comes unflavoured in a vegetable capsule.

Sublingually (under the tongue) for 1 minute through a spray and sometimes a tincture.

Swallowed with food or drink (faster), also can be more discreet than oil.

Less consistent due to manual measurement

Same dosage is taken each time consistently

Bioavailability (absorption)

Medium bioavailability (average 12%) avoiding the digestive system. It is faster releasing and feels more intense.

Lower bioavailability than oils (average 6%) but comes in higher strengths. It is less intense and slower releasing.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

This system is built into every single one of us, and plays a vital role in the regulating of many functions, some of which we rely on everyday, such as sleep, mood, appetite, memory and fertility. This is something that naturally occurs in our bodies - regardless of if you take any form of cannabis or CBD.

How does CBD work with the endocannabinoid system?

It is agreed on by many experts that we have 2 types of receptors in our bodies, as part of the endocannabinoid system (ECS). These receptors are actively responding to natural cannabinoids produced in our bodies, but will also accept them when externally sourced from an oil spray or a CBD capsule.

CB1 receptors are found mostly in the nervous system, and CB2 receptors which are more in your nervous system. Cannabinoids will bind to these receptors, actively targeting areas chosen by your ECS.
